Small Note: I know this is a man-made structure, but it is under conceptual because of its intended meaning.
One of the oldest known churches in Syria, named Sherobem in Aramaic (yeah it is that old), it stands in absolute solitary at an altitude of 1700 or so meters. That's actually a 30 degree celcius drop in temperature! The Angel Tower is added recently to host the Bell, since the structure of the church is so old that even a door cannot be attached without having the church collapse. The Tower overlooks a complete 360 view of the meadows and shorter mountains that surround the area. It is believed that the church was built because the clouds at the peak form a hole during thunderstorms (due to lightning), and hence it was believed to be the closest point possible to Heaven. Syria, next to Sednaya. You'll never be able to spot it except at night when the lights illuminmate the road up. -- Why don't you also give my blog a spin? |
